Key elements of distance learning
Tutorships
Tutorships consist in guiding students during their learning process. Tutorships will primarily be available through the virtual classroom (forums, online meetings, recordings, etc.), although the course teaching staff will be reachable by e-mail, telephone or in person during normal office hours. More information about this will be provided in each subject's virtual classroom. The professor's contact information can be found in the branch's specific guides and in the course subject's virtual classroom. Tutorships will be conducted in English or in Spanish language.
Online meetings
Subject-specific sessions on each module will be delivered by the professor and recorded for viewing at your own discretion.
Virtual classrooms
This is where you will find the necessary materials and content to navigate through the course. Here you will find the teaching and exercise materials, software, forums, etc. You must have an Internet connection in order to use this tool.
Forums
A one-stop shop where attendees have the chance to interact and consult with one other as well as with the tutors. This is a very powerful tool if used properly and in accordance with the rules. Lots of questions and doubts can be answered and clarified through the forums.
Base texts
These are the main training materials of the Master's Program that have been specially created for the program, combined with a selected bibliography for study. These texts are for the Fundamentals, Application and Practical courses and are also part of the "hands on" exercises.
Software
Student versions of ANSYS products by ANSYS, Inc. will be provided by the course for use throughout the theoretical and practical subjects of the course. These academic versions have all the software capabilities but model size limitation. Please check the section Software for further information and minimum hardware and O.S. requirements for each software.
Self-evaluation exercises/tests
Test yourself and track your progress through these exercises and related solutions available in the base texts. Check your acquired subject knowledge and see where you need to improve.
Continuous Assessment Exercises (CAEs)
These exercises are part of the various modules's training materials and are accessible through the virtual classroom. These exercises should be solved and submitted to the professor for review.
Exams
Exams will be conducted using distance test questions and practical exercises and are completely online. The exam structure will be explained to the attendees some months before the exam period.
